Sixty medical doctors in training at National Hospital of Faroe Islands

There are currently 60 medical doctors in training positions at the National Hospital of the Faroe Islands. Among them, 14 doctors are training to become general practitioners. Additionally, 23 doctors are participating in the Clinical Basic Education (KBU) program, which is a fundamental stage in the medical specialization process. It is mandatory for all physicians to complete the KBU after finishing their medical studies.
Furthermore, 17 doctors are engaged in introductory positions across 11 specialties. This role allows them to gain experience and insight into various specialties before making their final specialty choice. The National Hospital also hosts six doctors who are part of their specialized training, splitting time between the Faroese institution and Danish hospitals.
In total, there are 100 Faroe Islanders currently studying medicine.
