A rescue operation was launched today at 3:00 PM due to a potential accident in the Stuðlagil area. Authorities received a report that an individual was seen in the Jökla River, which flows through Stuðlagil.
The helicopter unit of the Coast Guard was deployed urgently to the scene, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Coast Guard. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear. Another helicopter is preparing for takeoff, which will carry divers from the Reykjavík Fire Department.
