Icelandair is assisting passengers trying to leave Florida as Hurricane Milton approaches the state. The airline has canceled its flight to Orlando scheduled for today, and flights from Orlando to Keflavik have also been called off. Despite the severe weather, no requests for assistance have been reported from Icelandic citizens currently in Florida.

Gudni Sigurdsson, a communications expert at Icelandair, stated that the airline is helping passengers either expedite their return flights or book tickets to alternative destinations within the U.S. To accommodate travelers, an extra flight from Keflavik to Orlando is planned for Friday, with a return flight from Orlando to Keflavik set for Saturday.

The Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and advises Icelandic citizens in the area to adhere to the recommendations of U.S. emergency responders and follow local media updates. With Hurricane Milton on its way, millions of residents in Florida are in the process of evacuating in anticipation of severe weather impacts.
