The Finnish government’s export-driven labor market model is now under discussion in Parliament. The proposal is expected to face severe criticism from opposition parties. All major opposition groups have announced their intention to participate in the Social Democratic Party’s interpellation. Opponents of the initiative argue that the model condemns sectors dominated by women, particularly public services, to a perpetual pay gap. Additionally, public sector trade unions have voiced their disapproval of the legislative proposal.
