Cleanup efforts continue at Parliament House in Helsinki following vandalism by activists
Cleanup efforts at the Parliament House, which was vandalized with red paint by protesters, are expected to be completed today. The facade and pillars have been cleaned using steam, in accordance with guidelines from the Finnish National Board of Antiquities. The total cost of the cleaning project is estimated to be around 15,000 euros.
Activists from the environmental group Elokapina, along with members of the Swedish movement Återställ Våtmarker, defaced the pillars of Parliament House on September 25 in protest against peat extraction.
