Ovako Imatra Oy Ab has initiated change negotiations regarding the potential continuation of layoffs and the possible reduction of its workforce. The objective of these discussions is to strengthen the company’s profitability and competitiveness in light of the changing market conditions.
According to the company, the preliminary assessment indicates that there may be a need to permanently reduce up to 70 full-time positions, which would impact all employee groups. The negotiations are expected to conclude by the end of November 2024, with an aim for any permanent staff reductions to primarily be executed by the end of May 2025.
