Minister Strøm faces scrutiny over false statements to Parliament in Norway

Ingilín D. Strøm, the Minister of Housing, today, October 7, addressed the preliminary findings of the Government Affairs Committee in relation to her statements made to the Parliament.

The committee’s preliminary conclusion indicates that Strøm provided false information to the Parliament and violated laws regarding the responsibility of government officials. According to the law, government officials are required to be truthful when addressing the Parliament and must not conceal any information.

The preliminary findings also highlight that the National Audit Office has identified multiple clear indications in its report suggesting that there are issues with the long-term management of the Housing Loan Fund.

During her address to the Parliament, Ingilín D. Strøm claimed that she had no indications of any problems regarding the long-term management of the fund.
