Unemployment holds at 0.9 per cent in September

Unemployment stood at 0.9 per cent in September, unchanged from the same month last year, Statistics Faroe Islands reported, according to KVF.

There were 330 people unemployed, 20 more than in September 2025. The total included 218 men and 112 women.

The unemployment rate for men rose by 0.1 percentage points over the year, while the rate for women fell by the same amount. Unemployment was lowest among the youngest and oldest age groups. Most unemployed people had been without work for one to three months.
