A large crowd gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Iceland today to participate in a solidarity march supporting Palestine. The chairperson of the Iceland-Palestine Association stated that the United States is complicit in the genocide in Palestine.

Worldwide, solidarity marches were organized in support of Palestine, with this event coinciding with the upcoming anniversary of Hamas’s attacks on Israel, which left over 1,000 people dead and 250 taken hostage. Since then, nearly 42,000 people have lost their lives in Israeli military operations in Gaza, with tens of thousands injured and hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes.

In Iceland, participants rallied in both Akureyri and Reykjavík, marching from the U.S. Embassy. The demonstrations reflect ongoing unrest and concern regarding the situation in the region, underscoring calls for justice and humanitarian support for Palestinians amidst ongoing conflict.
