Police operation launched after fireworks incident in Kivikatu, Lahti

On Friday, a police operation in Kivikatu, Lahti, was triggered by the discharge of fireworks from a balcony, according to the police on Saturday. Authorities received an alert in the afternoon regarding suspected gunfire in the area. The police cordoned off the vicinity around Keijupuisto, blocking access to Kivikatu for over two hours.

By Friday evening at 5:45 p.m., police reported that they had arrested an individual suspected of firing shots from the balcony of an apartment building on Kivikatu. Following the arrest, it was determined that a man in his twenties had discharged fireworks, which made three loud bangs. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

During a subsequent search of the apartment, authorities did not discover any firearms. The Hämeen police continue to investigate the matter, and potential charges will be revealed as the investigation unfolds.
