Tidö parties criticize opposition for division in Sweden’s political landscape

The Tidö parties have strongly criticized the opposition parties, accusing them of being divided. “If the left alternative regains power, we will see more or less nuclear energy,” Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party) said during the first press conference of the parliamentary year.

In recent days, all opposition parties have presented their shadow budgets, which serve as alternatives to the budget introduced by Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (Moderate Party). These shadow budgets illustrate common areas among the parties as well as their differing opinions. “This is a policy that the Social Democrats do not support,” said Mats Knutson.

Among the proposals, the Left Party advocates for increased taxes on the wealthy, while the Green Party is pushing for a commitment of one percent of GDP toward green transition initiatives. The Social Democrats have suggested an additional nine billion kronor for social welfare.

As these proposals unfold, the government faces challenges in aligning its policies amid growing opposition scrutiny. Meanwhile, the Center Party has accused the government of abandoning its workforce-oriented approach, emphasizing the need for more balanced economic strategies tailored to various social segments.
