Electricity prices expected to rise in Finland as sauna season approaches
This Saturday, the price of electricity on the stock market will rise as the evening approaches, peaking during the prime time for sauna heating. By 7 PM, the price is expected to reach nearly 37 cents per kilowatt-hour. This increase is primarily due to a decline in wind power production, as weather forecasts indicate that wind speeds will decrease throughout the evening. Additionally, nuclear power generation remains below normal levels, as the Olkiluoto 2 nuclear plant, which has been out of service due to a malfunction, will not resume operations until after the weekend. In the morning and during the afternoon, electricity prices will remain low.
