Differences in foreign policy management are being addressed today during a joint meeting of the government’s Foreign and Security Policy Committee and the President of Finland. Recently, tensions have arisen concerning Finland’s voting decision related to Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories, as well as Foreign Trade and Development Minister Ville Tavio’s decision not to have Finland join the Equality Coalition for Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts. President Alexander Stubb considers it a mistake that Tavio’s intentions were not communicated to the Presidential Office in advance.
