Business owner claims millions in losses due to power failure in Mývatn, Iceland

A business owner in the Mývatn area claims to have incurred significant losses totaling millions due to a power failure in the Landsnet electrical system yesterday. The Minister of Energy stated that the incident underscores the urgent need to complete the installation of power lines. Over 100 damage reports have already been submitted, with a quarter of them coming from Mývatn.

The CEO of Landsnet acknowledged that the infrastructure is aging and the Minister emphasized that any delay in improving the electrical network could negatively impact national energy security.
