The medical secretary program has officially been discontinued, according to an announcement from the Hospital Service on its website.

The National Hospital has been offering medical secretary training for 23 years, since 2001. In the initial year, there were three students enrolled, and this number has steadily increased over the years. A total of 38 individuals have completed the medical secretary program at the National Hospital.

This two-year vocational training allowed students to gain comprehensive knowledge across various departments and specialties within the National Hospital. The last cohort of students graduated in August this year.

“It’s indeed a bittersweet moment that this program is now part of history,” stated the Hospital Service.

In place of the medical secretary program, a new training program titled “healthcare administrative coordinator” will be introduced, which will be offered abroad.
