Beinir Johannesen has received clarification from the Ministry of the Environment regarding the response given by Minister of Finance Ingilín D. Strøm to his inquiry about the financial implications of shortening the workweek.

During discussions yesterday, Durita Tausen, deputy director at the Tax Authority, expressed that she did not recognize the minister’s response.

No Assessment Conducted

The Tax Authority prepared calculations for a working group under specific conditions, but did not provide an overall assessment. According to Durita Tausen, it would have been preferable to have the opportunity to comment on the response to ensure a more accurate answer.

Since the response was published, Beinir Johannesen has received clarification from the Ministry of the Environment. He stated, “Based on the response I have received, along with the uncertainties it reveals, the matter is certainly not ready for decision-making.”

The broadcast mentions that Ingilín D. Strøm had the opportunity to provide comment but chose not to address the issue. It should be noted that efforts were made to contact Ingilín D. Strøm for a statement, but these attempts were unsuccessful.
