Authorities are currently advising against unnecessary travel in Esbjerg Municipality due to road closures and viaducts being flooded following heavy rain in recent hours. For those who must drive, police are urging the use of alternative routes rather than attempting to navigate flooded areas. Violating roadblocks and signage is strongly discouraged.

The Southwest Jutland Fire Department is actively responding with personnel and pumps in Esbjerg, Varde, and Fanø municipalities. Jens Mølgaard, the emergency chief at Southwest Jutland Fire Department, reported that several vehicles have encountered accidents due to water pooling on the roads.

Mølgaard also emphasizes the importance of residents checking their drains for leaves to ensure proper water drainage, and encourages them to secure basement windows. He noted, “We cannot be everywhere at once.”
