Cultural awards ceremony scheduled for Klaksvík in the Faroe Islands

The annual cultural awards of the Faroe Islands for 2024 will take place in Klaksvík, as announced by the Ministry of Education, Research, and Culture.

The event is scheduled for October 23 at the new cultural center in the Norðoyggjar region, where Sirið Stenberg, the Minister of Social Affairs and Culture, will present the awards to artists and cultural figures.

Three awards will be given:

The National Cultural Award, worth 150,000 DKK, will honor Faroese individuals for their significant artistic achievements.

The Honorary Gift, valued at 75,000 DKK, will be awarded to those who have significantly contributed to cultural values that are important to Faroese culture, art, and heritage.

A Special Award of 50,000 DKK will be granted to an artist, cultural figure, or organization, as determined by the Minister’s discretion.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.
