Yle announced on Thursday the commencement of change negotiations aimed at consolidating the leadership of digital service development within its Strategy and Customer unit. A total of 209 employees will be affected by these negotiations. While the planned changes do not aim to reduce staff numbers, adjustments to roles and responsibilities may occur.
According to Marit af Björkesten, Yle’s Head of Strategy and Customer Relations, the organization seeks to achieve stronger strategic guidance, more streamlined management, and a framework that better facilitates renewal. These changes are unrelated to the decisions made by the parliamentary working group convened by the Finnish Parliament.
The announcement further indicates that Yle’s management team has begun planning the actions required by the findings of the parliamentary group. Details regarding these decisions will be shared as plans progress.
