Man charged with negligent manslaughter following fatal crash in Tranbjerg, Denmark

A 35-year-old man is set to appear in a preliminary court hearing at 2 PM today following a tragic incident in Tranbjerg, near Aarhus, where he was involved in a crash that resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The East Jutland Police confirmed that the man faces charges of negligent manslaughter under aggravating circumstances, driving without a license, and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The accident occurred around 10 PM last night when the man attempted to overtake several vehicles and subsequently collided head-on with a car carrying five people. A 77-year-old man, an 86-year-old woman, and a 78-year-old woman lost their lives as a result of the crash. Additionally, a 79-year-old man and another 78-year-old woman are currently hospitalized in critical condition, although the police have not provided any updates on their status as of noon today.

The 35-year-old man was also taken to the hospital, where he remains admitted. Due to his medical condition, he will be represented in absentia during the court proceedings, which will take place at the Courthouse in Aarhus. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
