New HIV case reported in Faroe Islands involving foreign national
A new HIV case was reported in the Faroe Islands last year.
According to the chief medical officer’s latest health announcement, the case involves a foreign national.
Since the first case was reported in 1989, five men and three women have died from AIDS in the Faroe Islands.
The first HIV case in the country was identified in 1986 involving two men.
In 2022, two HIV cases were confirmed, both involving men. Additionally, one man and one woman tested positive for HIV in 2021.
