Several fiber optic cables cut in Kydö, Joensuu

Over the weekend, several fiber optic cables were cut in Kydö, Joensuu. From Friday to Monday, cables were severed in six different equipment cabinets using side cutters, according to police reports. As a result of this vandalism, fiber optic connections in the Kydö area are currently disrupted, with repair work expected to take 2 to 3 weeks.

The damage reportedly occurred between midnight on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Monday, affecting locations on Ojalantie, Halmetie, Liinatie, Hannulankuja, Huhtatie, and Pellavapolku. Police have stated that the extent of the damage is significant.
