A driver under the influence of drugs engaged in a lengthy police chase across Satakunta and Pirkanmaa. Authorities attempted to stop the driver in Porissa, but he chose to flee at high speeds, endangering other road users on Highway 11 towards Tampere. Multiple patrol units from both the Southwest and Central Finland police joined the pursuit.

The chase came to an end when police managed to stop the fleeing vehicle using a spike strip at the border between Hämeenkyrö and Nokia. However, the driver continued his escape on foot into the woods. After approximately an hour of searching, the 26-year-old man was apprehended.

The suspect did not possess a valid driver’s license and is believed to have been driving while under the influence of narcotics. Following substance testing, he was taken to a police detention facility, facing charges of aggravated endangerment of traffic safety as well as other related offenses.
