Metro services resume at Rautatientori station in Helsinki after renovations
Metro services are set to resume today at Helsinki’s Rautatientori metro station following a three-month renovation. The improvements aimed at enhancing fire safety and overall comfort in the station. One of the most noticeable changes for passengers is the installation of smoke doors on the platform level.
The station’s closure has significantly impacted mobility within downtown Helsinki since the beginning of summer. A live stream of morning traffic from Rautatientori will be broadcasted by Yle, featuring journalist Olli-Pekka Kursi who will be engaging with passengers to gather their reactions.
With the reopening of Rautatientori metro station, trains will once again run through downtown Helsinki with frequencies as high as every three minutes.
