No data has been lost from the database of Stöð 2 following an electrical fire that occurred in the equipment room of Síminn at the end of June. Eva Georgs Ásudóttir, the television director of Stöð 2, stated that both internal and external experts are continuing to work on resolving the remaining issues, as a limited amount of data is still inaccessible. However, all raw data is intact.
Eva emphasized that the work is being closely monitored to ensure that the timeline does not experience significant delays, as it is a large technical project. On the other hand, the renewal of equipment may take longer. Overall, the situation has been managed quite well, especially considering that the fire occurred during the summer when many employees were on vacation.
