The son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been questioned by police in Oslo as part of an ongoing investigation. Police Inspector Henriette Taxt Røstadli confirmed on Tuesday evening that the questioning took place but did not provide further details.
Marius Borg Høiby is under investigation for vandalism, bodily harm, and threats against a woman involved in the case. The incident reportedly occurred in an apartment in the Frogner district on August 4.
On August 14, Høiby admitted in a statement that he used violence while under the influence of cocaine. “Last weekend, something happened that should never have occurred. I committed acts of bodily harm and damaged property in an apartment while intoxicated after an argument,” he stated.
The planned questioning of Høiby had been postponed the previous week due to his lawyer’s inability to attend. The victim’s legal representative, Mette Yvonne Larsen, expressed relief that the questioning finally took place, noting that they had been waiting a long time for this moment. She indicated that they hope to schedule a follow-up questioning of the victim next week.
In addition to the current charges of vandalism and bodily harm, Høiby is being investigated for allegations of domestic abuse involving two former girlfriends, Nora Haukland and Juliane Snekkestad.
Lawyers representing the alleged victims are keen to learn about the contents of Høiby’s questioning, as its outcomes could significantly influence the direction of the case. Høiby is also facing a theft allegation related to a scooter incident reported on August 7.
