Hjallis Harkimo and Jethro Rostedt reach settlement in financial dispute in Finland
Businessman and Member of Parliament Hjallis Harkimo and businessman Jethro Rostedt have reached an agreement regarding their financial dispute. Harkimo’s company sought to collect nearly €1.8 million in debts from Rostedt, which reportedly consisted of six promissory notes and other obligations.
The Varsinais-Suomi District Court confirms that a settlement decision has been made by the court judge. The documents related to the mediation remain confidential, and the settlement agreement is sealed for ten years. According to court records, the settlement agreement dated August 14 contains information about Hjallis Promotion Ab Oy’s trade secrets, the disclosure of which could likely cause significant harm and damage to the company.
Rostedt expresses a forward-looking perspective on the matter. Originally, the case was set to be heard in court in May, but both parties requested a postponement. The hearing was then rescheduled for August 19, but that too has now been canceled.
In a brief comment to Yle, Rostedt said, “An agreement has been reached a while ago. There’s nothing more to add, other than that it’s good we got this off the agenda and we can all look ahead.” The news of the settlement was first reported by Seiska magazine.
