Two men plan to appeal Seinäjoki basement killing convictions
Two men convicted over a killing in a basement in Seinäjoki plan to appeal their sentences, Yle reports. Both have notified the court that they are dissatisfied with the verdict.
The South Ostrobothnia District Court sentenced 55-year-old Tero Vuohenoja to 10 years in prison and 35-year-old Pertti Hautamäki to eight years for manslaughter.
The victim, a man aged about 40, was found in June 2021 in the basement of an apartment building in Seinäjoki’s Kasperi district. He was last seen alive in late November 2020.
The prosecutor had sought life sentences for murder. Both men denied the charges.
