Varðin signed a contract with Karstens Shipyard in Skagen for the construction of “Finnur Fríði” in 2021. The hull was built in Poland, and the finishing touches were completed in Skagen.
The vessel is 88 meters long and 16.5 meters wide. It features environmentally friendly technology, and its engine is designed to accommodate future fuels such as methanol and ammonia.
“Finnur Fríði” has a capacity of 3,000 tons.
Plans are in place for the vessel to commence fishing operations as early as next week.
