Authorities investigate homicide in Vehniä, Laukaa, linked to death in Suojoki river

Authorities are investigating a homicide that took place in a private residence in Vehniä, Laukaa. A man in his 40s, originally from Central Finland, was found dead last Friday in the Suojoki river, located in Hietama, Äänekoski. The victim was wrapped in plastic and had sustained injuries indicative of violence.

According to police reports, it is believed that the man died at the private residence in Vehniä in early August. Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the case. A man in his 50s, who resides in Laukaa, is set to be presented for detention at the Central Finland District Court tomorrow. The involvement of the other detained person is still under investigation.

Local news outlet Ilta-Sanomat has reported that the man suspected of the homicide has a prior criminal record, including charges for attempted murder, serious drug offenses, and aggravated property damage.
