On Sunday evening, viewers will have the chance to witness the year’s first supermoon. A supermoon occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth.

This particular supermoon marks one of four that will be visible this autumn. The first will appear on Sunday night and will remain visible until Tuesday.

Monday is set to be the night of the full moon, expected to showcase the moon in its most splendid form. Pål Brekke, a chief specialist at the Norwegian Space Centre, encourages people to stay up to enjoy the sight.

As the evening approaches, the supermoon will provide a stunning backdrop over various locations, including the Valhall Arena and Holmenkollen in Oslo, as well as the Oslofjorden seen from Holmenskjæret in Asker.

Observers and enthusiasts are invited to share their moon photos and videos taken from their own locations. Contributions should include details on where and when the images were captured, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of this celestial event from different perspectives.
