Aktia Bank experiences widespread system disruptions affecting digital services in Finland

Aktia Bank is currently experiencing widespread disruptions in its systems. The bank announced on its Facebook page that these issues are affecting customer identification, various digital services, and card payments. Mia Smeds, the bank’s communications director, informed STT that the cause of the disruptions has been identified.

“We have addressed the root cause. It is now a matter of time before all digital services are up and running again,” Smeds stated around 9 PM. She added that the disruptions began around 5 PM. While customers’ credit cards have continued to function, issues have been reported with debit card payments.

Aktia has committed to updating its clients as soon as the problems are resolved. The bank is communicating the situation to customers through various channels, including social media, its website, mobile app, and identification application.
