Shell issues erroneous invoices to customers in Finland related to discontinued card program
Shell has sent erroneous invoices to some card customers related to the now-discontinued Shell Card Private for individual consumers. According to St1’s communications, a few thousand incorrect invoices have been issued. Shell owns the energy company St1 in Finland. The operations of the Shell Card Private were halted at the beginning of November last year.
The misleading invoices stem from a single billing cycle that generated one erroneous batch within a single day. The incorrect invoices carry a date of April 11, 2023, with a due date of April 26, 2023. The underlying issue was caused by an isolated system error, which has since been fixed.
Customers receiving obviously incorrect invoices are advised to disregard them. St1’s communications indicate that information regarding this issue was posted on their website as soon as the error was identified. Additionally, all customers affected by the erroneous invoices will receive a notification about the mistake via postal mail.
