Halloween, Iceland, Kópavogur

More than 100 households in Lindahverfi, a neighbourhood in Kópavogur, joined in this year’s Halloween celebrations, offering treats to children and some teenagers in costume, mbl.is reports.

Residents in the neighbourhood also shared a map showing which homes were taking part. More than 40 per cent of homes on the streets of Núpalind, Kópalind and Laugalind participated, while many houses on other streets were also covered in Halloween decorations.

An mbl.is photographer visited Núpalind, where residents offered sweets to anyone brave enough to say “trick or treat”. Some children took candy from a clown, and entire families dressed up, including as the Lorax, the protector of trees.

Halloween decorations, pumpkin lanterns and ghost sounds were also reported in neighbourhoods around the country.
