Kópavogur municipality’s old ballot boxes were all claimed after demand exceeded expectations, mbl.is reported.
The municipality had posted a photo of the boxes on Facebook and offered them for free. It later updated the post to say they were all gone, thanking people for their interest.
The photo showed at least 14 boxes. The municipality had advertised several times when people could collect them from its service centre.
