Two Danish men are on trial this week over an alleged plan to produce drugs in a workshop in Norðdepil, KVF reports. The case began on Monday and is due to end on Wednesday.

The indictment says they planned to make at least 14.1 kilograms of amphetamine and nine litres of GHB, a substance with a sedative effect. Equipment and chemicals had been bought, but production did not properly begin because police arrested one of the men on July 12, 2020.

The men, aged 37 and 43, are also charged with making threats and unlawfully depriving someone of their liberty. According to the indictment, they showed the person a shotgun kept in their car. One of the men allegedly said he was not afraid to use it.

They face additional charges, mainly for traffic offences. Both deny the charges.
