Veitur replace 1955 water and sewer pipes

Veitur is replacing water and sewer pipes at Rauðalækur in a project expected to continue until summer 2027, mbl.is reports. The existing pipes date from 1955.

Work began last summer. The project covers the stretch from Laugalækur to Dalbraut and has been divided into smaller phases to limit disruption to traffic and nearby areas.

Crews are now working on the second and final phase, replacing pipes at the corner of Laugalækur and Rauðalækur.
