Two more F-35 fighters arrive in Rovaniemi

Two new Finnish F-35 fighters arrived in Rovaniemi on Friday evening, Yle reported. The aircraft, JF-509 and JF-511, landed at Lapland Air Command at 17:56, according to the Finnish Air Force.

JF-511 had been left in the Azores in September because of a technical fault. JF-509 departed Fort Worth, Texas, on October 20.

Four F-35s have now arrived in Finland. The first two reached the country in September. The newly arrived aircraft can be used for flight training after they pass airworthiness and acceptance inspections.

Finland has ordered 64 F-35 fighters.
