One person was taken to an emergency department with minor injuries after a car overturned in the capital last night or early this morning, mbl.is reported. The driver was outside the vehicle when emergency responders arrived and was taken by ambulance for further care.

One person was held in a police cell overnight, according to a police log covering incidents from 5pm to 5am.

Police stopped a driver who was talking on a mobile phone while driving. The driver got out of the car but was told to get back in. He then drove off before officers could speak with him. Police pursued the car, which stopped, and the driver ran away. Officers caught him and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, a weapons offence and possession of narcotics.

Police also responded to a report that part of a roof edge was coming loose from a house and called for appropriate assistance to take precautions. In a separate incident, rocks were thrown through a window of a private home. Police are investigating.
