Georg Páll wins labour federation presidency with 56%
Georg Páll Skúlason won the presidency of the Icelandic Confederation of Labour with 56.2% of the votes cast, mbl.is reported.
Skúlason received 163 votes, while his challenger, Arnaldur Grétarsson, received 127, or 43.8%.
Skúlason, who has chaired Grafía for about two decades, will succeed Finnbjörn A. Hermannsson, who announced this summer that he would not seek re-election. The confederation’s 47th congress is due to conclude today.
