KVF’s Breddin programme will examine drug misuse and planned changes to the fish-processing scheme, the broadcaster reports.
Martin Kúrberg, head of the Herbergið shelter, says support for people who misuse drugs is inadequate because they are not being prioritised well enough. Kúrberg, who misused drugs for many years himself, will discuss the challenges and possible solutions.
The programme will also revisit the television documentary “Leivur vil liva”, broadcast the previous evening, which focused on these issues. Leivur Halldórsson is a person who misuses drugs.
Social Affairs Minister Margit Stórá plans to change the fish-processing scheme. Breddin will ask what companies that currently benefit from it think of the changes, and what the ALS board says. The programme airs at 10am.
