The Faroe Islands recorded a current account surplus of nearly 2.8 billion kroner in 2025, more than 700 million kroner higher than in 2024, according to KVF.

Income for the year was just under 20 billion kroner, while expenditure was slightly more than 17 billion. The increase in the surplus was largely driven by goods exports, which rose from 11.6 billion kroner in 2024 to 13.3 billion in 2025.

The Statistics Office says the current account has recorded large surpluses since 2013.
