The company run by YouTube brothers Oskar and Elias Hole has been fined 140,000 kroner for four breaches of Denmark’s Marketing Practices Act in 2023, DR reports.
The Court of Odense told news agency Ritzau that the breaches included directly or indirectly encouraging children and young people to engage in reckless or dangerous behaviour involving alcohol.
One breach concerned a video titled “Eight ways to smuggle alcohol into a festival”. In it, the brothers demonstrated, among other methods, filling a condom with vodka and swallowing it.
In setting the fine, the court considered the company’s revenue and the video’s high number of views. It also took into account that the brothers later removed the video and that it was posted three years ago.
The Consumer Ombudsman had sought a fine of 250,000 kroner at a court hearing on September 18.
