Friday may be Finland’s last sunny day before autumn weather arrives
Friday could be the last warm, sunny day before clouds and rain arrive in Finland over the weekend, Yle reports. “You can still enjoy memories of summer on Friday, at least in the south,” meteorologist Matti Huutonen said.
High pressure over Finland will move towards eastern Europe during the weekend, giving way to more humid and cloudy air from the southwest. Scattered showers are expected on Saturday and Sunday, with heavier rain on Monday.
Temperatures will remain above average. Friday highs are forecast at 16 to 17 degrees in southern Finland and around 10 degrees in the north, about five degrees warmer than usual. Huutonen said the temperatures are not especially unusual, though colder weather is gradually on its way. He recalled that snow has fallen in early October in some years.
