Four new main engines for the ship Smyril will cost 74.4 million kroner, KVF reports, with half the sum going towards purchasing them and half towards installation.

Jacob Vestergaard, the minister, has asked Parliament to approve up to 74.4 million kroner for the engines. They are due to be installed in 2028, but must be ordered now, the Ministry of Trade and Industry says.

Smyril docks and departs 3,700 times a year and sails an average of 11 and a half hours a day.
