Bittium subsidiary to cut 22 jobs across Finland

Bittium will lay off 22 employees at its subsidiary Bittium Engineering Services Oy for financial and production-related reasons, Yle reports.

The company has completed change negotiations that began at the end of August. They covered all 120 employees at the subsidiary, with layoffs affecting staff in different parts of Finland.

If the layoffs go ahead, Bittium estimates they will generate annual savings of about two million euros from the beginning of next year.

The decision will also result in about 500,000 euros in one-off costs, which will be recorded in the company’s income statement for the fourth quarter of this year. The costs have weighed on Engineering Services’ operating profit for that period.
