OK-Fonden will take over the running of Enggården, the only municipal care home in Dragør Municipality, from 1 January 2027, DR reports.
The change follows serious problems with care quality and a strained working environment identified in an earlier review. The care home will become a self-governing institution and be renamed Den Selvejende Institution OK-Fonden Enggården.
Dragør Mayor Kenneth Gøtterup called the decision historic. “We are changing the operating model, but the goal is the same: to create a safe and good daily life for residents and good conditions for employees, with better opportunities for professional development and higher professional quality,” he said.
Dragør Municipality will retain responsibility as the authority and set the overall standards for quality and service. Gøtterup said OK-Fonden would build on changes already under way and bring experience, expertise and specialist skills to Enggården.
The mayor proposed making the care home self-governing in October 2025.
