Claude asks Purrkur Pillnikk singer who he is

Purrkur Pillnikk singer Einar Örn Benediktsson had to correct several errors when he asked the artificial intelligence model Claude what the Icelandic band was, mbl.is reports.

“I asked Claude for fun what Purrkur Pillnikk was and had to correct all sorts of inaccuracies. Claude became terribly upset and apologised. It also noted that I was obviously far more knowledgeable about the subject. Then it asked: ‘Who are you?’”

Benediktsson made the comments in an interview with members of Purrkur Pillnikk published in Morgunblaðið’s Sunday edition.

The band is expected to release a new album, Again, in November. It will be the group’s first album of new material in 44 years.

Bassist Bragi Ólafsson said Claude had also confidently claimed that Björk Guðmundsdóttir sang backing vocals with Purrkur Pillnikk during the band’s 1981 tour of Britain with the post-punk group The Fall.

“That is of course complete nonsense. We certainly did not notice her,” Ólafsson said.
