Yle reports that Finland will have unsettled and windy weather over the weekend, with scattered showers and strong gusts.
On Saturday, showers will move across the country. In the afternoon, they will focus on an area stretching from North Karelia to Central Lapland. Showers will be less common in southern Finland, where the sun may appear between the clouds.
It will nevertheless be windy in the south. The Finnish Meteorological Institute has warned that gusts may exceed 15 metres per second. Temperatures will be around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius in much of the country.
A new area of rain will reach western Finland on Saturday evening. During the night towards Sunday, a low-pressure system will deepen over the sea and bring rain particularly to northern Finland.
Parts of southern Lapland and North Ostrobothnia may receive up to 40 millimetres of rain on Sunday. Much of the country will also be very windy, and wind warnings will cover a wider area than on Saturday.
