One passenger was flown to Landspítali hospital after being thrown from a car that rolled two or three times on Barðastrandarvegur road in Iceland’s Westfjords, mbl.is reported.

All available police, fire and rescue crews, along with a helicopter from the Icelandic Coast Guard, were called to the scene shortly after 4pm on Friday.

The passenger who was ejected was unconscious when responders arrived and was flown south to Landspítali. No information was immediately available on the passenger’s condition.

The other six passengers were taken to the hospital in Patreksfjörður for further examination and appeared to have escaped serious injury.
